"Look Up" 2026

Look Up is about perspective—both where we place our attention and what we might discover when we choose to shift it.
 
The painting draws the viewer beneath a canopy of branches, looking upward through layers of textured bark and vibrant green leaves toward glimpses of open sky. I wanted the tree to feel strong and grounded, while the upward viewpoint creates a sense of movement, possibility, and quiet wonder.
 
There are times when life becomes so focused on what is directly in front of us that we forget there is another view available. Sometimes all it takes is a moment to stop, change our perspective, and look up.
 
For me, this painting is a reminder to notice what is already around us—the strength, beauty, light, and possibility we can easily miss when we aren't paying attention.
