Signals

For the past few months, I’ve been seeing these symbols in my mind.
I’m not sure where they’re coming from. They would simply appear—shapes, lines, forms—and eventually I felt like I needed to stop questioning them and get them onto the canvas.
So I did.
As I worked, it felt less like I was deliberately creating the symbols and more like I was allowing something to come through me. Maybe they’re coming from somewhere deep within my subconscious. Maybe there’s a spiritual connection. Maybe they’re signals from something beyond what I understand.
Who knows?
What I do know is that they kept asking to be expressed. And this painting is where they finally found a place to exist.
I’m calling it “Signals.”
Sometimes I think the artist’s job isn’t to understand everything that comes through. Sometimes it’s simply to pay attention—and create.
